At the Fish Firm, the Cage and Fish Firm

On Saturday, December 19, I was sitting listening to "Copacabana," which is just such a kitschy lounge act number ... I'm not a Barry Manilow fan, but somehow this song just gives me a real chuckle because of its camp value. Anyways, as an "Ally McBeal" fan, all of a sudden words popped into my head ... "At the Fish Firm" ... and I spent the whole night hacking this sucker into shape.

Her name was Ally, she was a lawyer
With sort of brownish-blondie hair, and a skirt cut up to there
She would sing "Tell Him", and trip all over
But while she tried to practice law,
Billy was the one she saw
He worked within her job, she felt just so macabre
They were young when they had each other
But her heart still throbs

At the Fish Firm, the Cage and Fish Firm
They're wackier than Larry Fishburne (here)
At the Fish Firm, the Cage and Fish Firm
Babies and midgets gave Ally the fidgets
at the Fish Firm ... she missed her love.

Her name was Georgia. She came from "Melrose."
She made Billy all gushy-goo, she met him at a law review.
And when she finished, he popped the question,
And Georgia said "Oh, yes, I do,"
Ally felt so very blue
And then she felt real sick, their sex gave her the ick
There was love and a sprig of holly
So just who'll he pick?

Her name is Ally, she is a lawyer,
And he was many years ago, and he wasn't married (d'oh!),
Now it's a kiss, yeah, but not for Billy,
Still she keeps trying with the guys,
And she goes and dates rabbis.
She met the guy from 'Rent', he was just heaven-sent,
And a guy played by Michael Easton,
on which we won't comment!
