Closed Captions

Closed captions are often created before the scenes get to editing, and sometimes, the editors remove words and forget to remove the closed captions. Here are some of my favorite closed caption mistakes.

AM-115 "Once In a Lifetime"

At about 25 min. 45 sec. into the episode, during a scene with Ally and Billy talking about the case in the conference room, we begin to hear the song "You Belong to Me." In this scene, Ally and Billy are talking, but we can't hear them. That's where the closed captions come in. Here is what they said:

Billy: Conversations with dead wife. Not a problem. Yacht, could be.

Ally: I have three experts to say that short term memory loss is not necessarily a cause of, um... dementia

Billy: What about the time he stole a loaf of bread?

Ally: He just saw les miserables?

AM-117 "Theme of Life"

In the scene where the kickboxing class instructor is asking Ally and Georgia if they'd like to kickbox each other, there's a voiceover of Ally's thoughts ... "She'll try to kill me."
